This policy explains how Furniss by notmuch (“we”, “us”), operated by [Your full legal / business name] (ABN [ABN]), collects, uses and discloses your personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address.
  • Order details: items purchased, quantities, order history and our communications with you.
  • Waitlist and contact form submissions: your email address, message, and the product you are interested in.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected by our hosting provider in server logs.

We do not store your card number. Card payments are processed by Stripe, which collects and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

Why we collect it

To process and deliver orders, provide customer support, send order updates, tell you when products launch (if you joined the waitlist), meet our tax and legal obligations, and keep our site secure.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe – payment processing.
  • Netlify – website hosting and form submissions (servers may be outside Australia, including the United States).
  • Couriers and postal services – to deliver your order.
  • An email service provider [name, if you use one, e.g. Mailchimp] – to send emails you have asked for.
  • Our accountant or advisers, and authorities where the law requires.

Some providers store or process information overseas. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell your personal information.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails to people who have asked for them (for example, by joining the waitlist). Every marketing email identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe any time by emailing [contact email].

Cookies and storage

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If checkout is enabled, your cart is saved in your browser’s local storage so it is still there when you return. Stripe Checkout may set cookies needed to process your payment securely. If we add analytics later we will update this policy.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep order records for at least 5 years to meet tax obligations, and keep waitlist details until you unsubscribe.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing [contact email]. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
